Connection

Connection is a work that culminates everything I have learned since beginning my Milky Way photography journey. The image was taken just below the Stonehenge War Memorial in Maryhill, Washington, looking south west towards Biggs Junction, Oregon and the mighty Columbia River that borders Washington and Oregon. It was a perfect night, so clear that if you knew where to look you could see the Milky Way with the naked eye and absolutely no wind. I had waited all summer for a night like this as smoke from wildfires and cloudy skies had made getting out to photograph a challenge. The image is a blue hour blend of foreground with an image of the Milky Way shot later from the same place. I so loved this night and everything was I was to get from it.
