In July in Central Washington, one rarely sees clouds. However, clouds were the inspiration behind this image of my side kick, Mari, the Black and Tan Coonhound. In the field east of our home outside Yakima, she was very patient with me, and the heat, as we captured this beautiful image of her black and tan coloring against the backdrop of field and sky.

What is more fun than a puppy! Nine week old Ember is strutting his stuff and checking out his surroundings, on a nice January day. His rich red coloring and striking white markings are just a part of the handsome young Borzoi he is sure to become! I can’t wait to get more images of him as he grows!

What is more fun than a pile of fall leaves? Eight year old Pippin the Shih Tzu thinks it’s the best thing ever!

Pippin has a zest for life that even exceeds the live in the moment nature of most dogs. As I have known her since she was eight weeks old it was truly a joy to get to photograph her.

In the Yakima Valley, it is commonplace for days to be foggy and misty in the winter. Laska, a four year old Borzoi, stands majestically in a field, surveying her surroundings. Time seems to stand still in this image, as a reminder that it is time for reflection and renewal as the winter months prepare us for the growth to come.

A beautiful February day yielded this image of Bean the Boston Terrier, who likes nothing better than to go places. This day, in the Yakima River Canyon, he had not only an outing, but got to play with a family that had young children who thought he was pretty cool! His portability makes him a great model as well!

A spectacular November afternoon, dripping in golden light and falls colors made Mia, the Shih Tzu, shine so brightly! Mia is a diabetic alert dog for her mom and does a fantastic job.
